Clipper Top Link – No-Wrench Locking Tractor Stabilizer Arm

Price range: $124.99 through $149.99

No jam nuts. No crescent wrench riding shotgun in the cab. Just slide the clip over the flat area and go to work. This is the top link Massey Ferguson got right decades ago – same locking design, duplicated exactly, at a fraction of what a dealer would want for the OEM part.

Most tractor top links have the same annoying problem: the link ends thread into the main body in and out to adjust length, and something has to keep them from backing off once you’ve got it set – because tractor vibration will loosen a top link out over time, and that’s how you end up with a three-point hitch that clanks, or worse, comes apart on you in the field. To prevent those situations, most OEM stabilizer arms have a jam nut that you’re supposed to tighten down against the tube with a big wrench every single time you swap implements. It works, but it’s a hassle, and half the guys I know just don’t bother – which is its own problem.

Massey Ferguson figured out a better way years ago, and it’s dead simple: instead of jam nuts, there’s a spring-loaded clip that drops down over a squared section of the link. Push it down, it locks the barrel in place – no tools, no threads to back off, nothing to forget. Pull it up, adjust your length, push it back down. That’s it.

“The Clipper” is an exact duplicate of that Massey design – same locking clip, same OEM-pattern dimensions, same fit. If you’ve priced an original Massey Ferguson top link through a dealer, you know that can get expensive fast. This one does the same job for a whole lot less.

In addition, the threads of “The Clipper” are housed inside the tube, keeping them free from field dust and debris.  That keeps them away from the elements and makes them much easier to clean and lubricate when the time comes to do that.

The Clipper comes in the sizes to match Category I, Category II, and Category I to II hitches at three different center lengths for Cat I, two for the others, so odds are good there’s one here that will directly replace what you’re now running.
